Yung Bleu, an American rapper and singer, has released a new single titled "Soul Child," which features rapper Lil Wayne.
Yung Bleu, born on April 5, 1994, is best known for his 2020 single "You're Mines Still," which peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 after being remixed by Drake.
Yung Bleu began made music in 2013, releasing a series of mixtapes that helped spread his name throughout the Southern scene. He eventually signed a deal with Columbia Records via Boosie Badazz's label Bad Azz Music Syndicate.
Yung Bleu returned to the scene in 2017 with the singles "Miss It" and "Ice on My Baby" from the mixtape Investments 4, which featured a guest appearance by YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
In 2018, Yung Bleu released remixes for "Miss It" featuring Kid Ink and "Ice on My Baby" featuring rapper, singer, and entrepreneur Kevin Jerome Gilyard, better known as Kevin Gates.
Bleu's final releases under Columbia Records and Bad Azz Music in 2020 were the mixtape Inv 5 and the EP Bleu Vandross.
Bleu later signed a distribution deal with Empire Distribution and a management deal with Meek Mill's label Dream Chasers Records.
BLEU also released the EP Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions in 2020, which included the single "You're Mines Still." On October 16, 2020, OVO Sound released a remix of "Your Mines Still" featuring Canadian rapper Drake after basketball player DeMarcus Cousins introduced the two artists.
On July 23, 2021, Yung Bleu released his debut album Moon Boy. Drake, Gunna, Big Sean, Kehlani, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, A Boogie with da Hoodie, Moneybagg Yo, H.E.R., and Kodak Black all make appearances on the album.
