The Kid Laroi rose to prominence as a result of his friendship and association with American rapper Juice Wrld while on tour in Australia. He developed a local following before signing a deal with Lil Bibby's Grade A Productions and Columbia Records, and he rose to prominence in 2020 with his collaboration with Juice Wrld on "Go," which peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Kid Laroi's debut mixtape, F*ck Love (2020), peaked at number one on the Australian ARIA Charts, making him the youngest Australian solo artist ever to do so, and also peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Furthermore, The Kid Laroi's song "Without You" and its remix with Miley Cyrus, as well as his collaboration with Justin Bieber, "Stay," charted in the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100, with "Stay" peaking at number one for seven consecutive weeks.
The Kid Laroi has won an APRA Award, an iHeartRadio Music Award, two ARIA Awards, a National Indigenous Music Award, and has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards, and four People's Choice Awards.
Howard was featured on Canadian singer Justin Bieber's song "Unstable," from Bieber's sixth studio album Justice, on March 19, 2021. Howard released a remix of "Without You," a collaboration with American singer Miley Cyrus, on April 30. The song, which had already gone viral on TikTok, peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming The Kid Laroi's first top-ten single as a lead artist.
