On at about 06:03:23 AM, Teyana Taylor And PrettyLittleThing Announce Designer Competition was updated.
With PLT's Designer of the Year competition, Teyana Taylor is using her role as creative director of PrettyLittleThing to identify the next great thing in design.
"Helping other young creatives has always been a priority of mine, and as Creative Director of PLT, this is the perfect opportunity to continue carrying out my purpose of reaching back and granting opportunities," Taylor said in a statement. "With me as your personal mentor, our winner will have the opportunity to design a collection as well as design an outfit for my next tour in August."
I'd read stories over the years about smaller designers having their talent stolen, and I promised that if I ever had the opportunity to make a difference, I'd make it my only mission to change that narrative. I'm so pleased to be on this trip with these incredible new creatives and designers, giving them the chance to show off their skills to the world!"
Interested designers should submit up to four original ideas, one of which will be worn by Taylor on the final leg of her farewell tour, The Last Rose Petal 2. The winner will receive a stipend as well as Taylor's personal mentoring. Their PLT collection, which they designed, will be available.
Taylor showcased her first PrettyLittleThing collection during New York Fashion Week in September 2021, after taking over as creative director in December 2020. "As Creative Director for the United States, it's critical that I work with a team that genuinely understands my vision and that we cater to everyone," she said in a statement. "As we exhibit this unisex collection and reintroduce kidswear alongside some familiar faces on the catwalk, you'll see male models walking for the first time."
