Read News!: Police narrates how hoodlums set Sunday Igboho’s house on fire; Oyo State Police Command described how a house owned by Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, also identified as Sunday Igboho, was set ablaze by some alleged hoodlums.
Our reporter remembers that several alleged arsonists set a house on fire on Tuesday. The house was set on fire at about 3 am in the Soka neighborhood of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The incident happened a few days after a seven-day ultimatum was given to Fulani herdsmen in the state by Mr. Igboho. In the news about his stance, Igboho was that Yoruba land should not be taken over by foreigners.
However, the state police command has reported that some alleged hoodlums set the house on fire.
“FIRE INCIDENT: At about 0620 hrs of today 26/01/2021, the report was received at Sanyo Police Station that some unidentified hoodlums came to Sunday Igboho’s house at SOKA area of Ibadan in a Hummer bus and Micra firing sporadically and set the house ablaze.
“A mini sitting room got burnt in the process while other properties are yet to be estimated. Immediately the DPO Sanyo got information about the incident, he contacted the Fire Service while he also went to the scene for a spot assessment.
“The fire was eventually put out. An investigation has commenced into the incident while the police are on the trail of the hoodlums.”
