Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has stated his reasons for withdrawing from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in Kaduna State.
We previously reported that Baba-Ahmed was chosen as the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi's running mate at a ceremony in Abuja on Friday.
During an interview on Channels Television's Politic Today, the founder of Baze University, Abuja, stated that he withdrew from the Kaduna governorship race due to his inability to buy delegates' votes.
"I withdrew from the PDP governorship race in Kaduna because God did not create me as someone who will buy delegates' votes," Baba-Ahmed said.
"And I made it abundantly clear that I was not looking for work." I was there to rectify a disastrous situation.
"When it became clear that buying votes was necessary, I said I couldn't do it." I respectfully resigned from the race.
"I also told them that I would remain faithful and loyal to the party." But it soon became clear that they were terrified of me, and I had no future in the party."
