Peter Obi Obtains Royal Blessings As He Announces His Presidential Race
Mr Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and the People's Democratic Party's vice-presidential candidate in the 2019 election, stated his desire to run for President of Nigeria in 2023 yesterday. He made the announcement in Awka while speaking to the royal fathers and Presidents-General of the state's 181 communities at Government House in Awka.
Obi stated that he opted to begin the voyage from his state by first telling the traditional rulers and the PGs, who are the people's caretakers.
"We are all Nigerians, and we know how things are shared in the nation," he remarked. Many individuals had contacted me to inquire about my view on the topic, and my response at the time was that I needed to talk with a wide range of people.
"The reason I phoned you is to formally notify you that I want to run for President of Nigeria in 2023."
"After a rigorous examination of the country, I discovered that we are too divided, and I pledge to lead an unified and safe Nigeria in order to attract international investment."
"The Nigeria I will lead will generate employment, strengthen our economy, and enhance education." If given the chance, I will change the course of the country for the better.
"I will transform Nigeria from a consuming to a producing nation." As a Nigerian, I desire security in all sections of the country. I don't want to be a politician; I want to serve my nation.
"Let me promise you that I would run for President of Nigeria on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party."
Yesterday, the traditional rulers' zonal chairmen from the three senatorial zones spoke on his behalf and committed to assist him in realizing his desire. They stated that Nigerians hold Obi in high regard due of his outstanding performance as governor, and that if elected president of Nigeria, he will continue to do so. Igwe Peter Anugwu of Mbaukwu, on the other hand, expressed concern that the Igbo people appear to be in disarray recently and asked them to unify to achieve victory. He noticed that many famous Nigerians were turning to Obi to save the country and encouraged all Nigerians to back him up.
"Obi's demeanor and humility have endear him to Nigerians, who have been waiting for him to announce." "Now that he has announced, I believe Nigerians would rally around him," Igwe Anugwu remarked. Mr Oseloka Obaze, who served as Obi's SSG, praised him as a tried and true leader who will lead Nigeria to glory.
"We collaborated with him, and the results are visible." "We have always supported him and believe that if given the opportunity to run Nigeria, he will perform well," - Obaze stated.
Mrs Uche Ekwunife, the senator representing Anambra Central, said Nigerians have been waiting for Obi to announce and expressed delight that he is coming from her senatorial zone.

"We've come to seek the traditional rulers' regal blessings." This is the Anambra project, and we want the royal fathers to rally their followers behind it.
"Nigerians have been arguing that Igbo have not announced their intention," she continued, "but with Obi in the race, Nigerians will now know that Igbo are genuinely in the race."
It is now Igbo's turn.
In a prior discussion with journalists on Tuesday, Obi stated that he will give his ambition his best.
"I'm completely committed. I've been consulting the elders, and I've received encouraging comments. They said it'll be me if the presidency moves south. I'm all in. I've even talked about it with a few other candidates. I'm already aware that Atiku is running, despite the fact that I was his running partner in 2019."
Obi utilized the parallel of Igbo business to illustrate his desire to run against Atiku Abubakar. "Atiku is my boss, but I will compete against him," he stated. If a boy is learning a trade, one day he will be emancipated and will even trade on the same commodity as his employer, yet the boss will still be the boss, but the young will grow.
For a long time, Wike has been an enigma, a rallying point and an arrowhead in the party, much to the chagrin of some of his contemporaries. Those who are not as devoted to the cause of the party as he is would naturally take offense when he insists on not allowing anyone to interfere with the PDP. They hoped they could be as strong and popular as Wike, but they forget that certain individuals are inherently suited to specific jobs. In that inflammatory essay, Obaseki sought to incite resentment by pulling former PDP National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus into the debate and accused Wike of bullying him out of office.
There appears to be a larger plot against the southeast. People are getting together. The Yoruba have been President for eight years and Vice President for eight years. They continue to meet. They want to return. Jonathan has been meeting with the south-south for five years, and they are still meeting. The Igbo people should be gathering. We shouldn't use Igbo from the south-south as the southeast bend. If the presidency is going to the south, it should go to the southeast.
"I have a deal with Anyim Pius Anyim." I told him that we should disagree on ideas rather than personalities. It is not my concern why somebody aspires to be President. We should focus on bringing out the best in everyone."
