National attention was drawn to Olly Murs in 2009 after he placed second on the sixth season of The X Factor. The American label Columbia Records and the British labels RCA Records and Sony Music UK signed him.

Please Don't Let Me Go, Olly Murs's first single, was certified Gold by the BPI and went straight to the top of the UK Singles Charts when it was released in 2010. After the success of "You Are Not Alone" with the other series 6 finalists, "This Is Me" by Murs became his first solo number one song.

The BPI certified "Thinking of Me" as Silver, and it peaked at #4 on the UK Singles Charts and became Olly Murs' fourth top ten song from his debut album. His second top-charting hit was "Heart Skips a Beat."

"Dance with Me Tonight" is the second song from Olly Murs's upcoming album, and it quickly earned his fourth number one hit.

With almost 108,000 copies sold in its first week of release, Olly Murs' self-titled first album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart in November 2010. The album eventually sold over 600,000 copies, earning a double platinum certification from the BPI.

Olly Murs' second album, In Case You Didn't Know, was released in November 2011 and debuted at number one, spawning two top-charting singles.

The autobiography Happy Days by Olly Murs came out in October of 2012. Murs's fourth number one, "Troublemaker," was the first of six songs from his third album, Right Place Right Time, which was released in November 2012.

Olly Murs's single "Wrapped Up," which featured Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, was released on November 16, 2014, and reached position three on the Billboard Hot 100.

The first single off his new album Never Been Better, it debuted at No. 1 on the charts on September 24, 2014, and was followed by "Up," which featured American singer Demi Lovato and reached the top 4 of the charts.

Olly Murs has also shared news of a spring 2015 tour in the United Kingdom. Featuring Charlotte Hope of "Game of Thrones" in the music video for his fourth single "Beautiful to Me," Murs released the song on June 15.
