Tione Jayden Merritt, better known as Lil Tjay, an American rapper and performer, has released a new track titled "Give You What You Want."

Lil Tjay, who was born on April 30, 2001, gained to notoriety in 2018 with his song "Resume" and later signed to Columbia Records.

Lil Tjay collaborated with producer CashMoneyAP to create "None of Your Love" in July 2018, which has received tens of millions of listens. Lil Tjay's debut EP No Comparison was released towards the end of 2018.

True 2 Myself, Lil Tjay's debut studio album, was released in 2019. The next year, he released the mixtape State of Emergency, which included mainly New York City drill musicians.

True 2 Myself debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200, becoming his first charting album.

Destined 2 Win, Lil Tjay's second studio album, was released in 2021 and featured the single "Calling My Phone," a collaboration with fellow recording artist 6lack, which became his highest-charting song to date.

Lil Tjay, who grew up in the Bronx, is a melodic rapper who regularly uses Auto-Tune in his tracks.

Lil Tjay has been compared to A Boogie wit da Hoodie, another New York rapper. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he said that Drake, Meek Mill, and Usher are his major musical influences.

Lil Tjay characterized his music as having a melodious feel whether singing or rapping about his prior problems in the same interview. Lil Tjay also attributes his success to his year in prison, during which he believes his ability to create songs skyrocketed.

Lil Tjay is referred to as a "hip-hop heartthrob" in Pitchfork's feature story on him. Lil Tjay later said in the interview that he is often referred to as the "Bronx Justin Bieber" due to his sample of Justin Bieber's "Baby."
