On at about 06:14:57 AM, Lil Kim And Family Celebrate The Notorious B.I.G.’s 50th Birthday With 2nd Annual Dinner Gala was updated.

The Notorious B.I.G.'s 50th birthday was celebrated at the 2nd Annual B.I.G. Dinner Gala at New York City's Guastavino on Friday night, despite the rain (May 20).

The star-studded event, hosted by Lil Kim in collaboration with The Alyi V Experience and Culture Creative, honored the late King of New York's legacy with guests including Sway Calloway, Smiff-N-Wesson, Fat Joe, and, of course, Junior M.A.F.I.A., who hit the red carpet and shared personal stories about their relationship with the late rapper.

During the gala, Biggie's DJ, DJ Enuff, spun on the 1s and 2s — Lil Kim And Family Celebrate The Notorious B.I.G.’s 50th Birthday With 2nd Annual Dinner Gala.

"I think people who inspire will things into being," journalist and MSNBC host Ari Melber told VIBE when asked about Big's influence on pop culture 25 years after his death. That is why Hip-Hop is such an ambitious culture, which many people overlook. 'Why do they [rappers] talk about money, why do they talk about brands?' some people wonder. "Well, if you've never been allowed to have anything, where your marginalization, economically, politically, and otherwise, is baselined, getting something is breaking a barrier in and of itself." He then alluded to Biggie's "Juicy," in which the Brooklyn rapper dedicates his debut album to "teachers who told me I'd never amount to nothing."
