Read!: Lagos State Government Closes Down All The Schools For #EndSARS Protests; The Lagos State Government has permanently ordered the closing of public and private schools in the state. This was announced in a press release by Kayode Abayomi, State Head of Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, on Monday. The sentence was titled, "Lagos guides students to stay at home."

It quoted the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, as saying that the schools had been shut down because of the

"tension caused by the # EndSARS protests."

The declaration reads in part, "The Lagos State Government has ordered all pupils/students in public and private schools to remain at home following the tension created by the anti-SARS protests.

"A new date for the resumption of all classes will be confirmed as soon as possible." Adefisayo added that "the welfare of pupils/students, parents and all staff employed in schools is paramount in this crucial time."

However, she urged parents to "keep an eye on their homes and not encourage them to be used as eager weapons in the hands of those who may try to hijack demonstrations to sow anarchy in society."

The Commissioner has urged schools to "use other forms of distance learning, such as radio, television, and internet media, as they did before and after the latest COVID-19 lockdown."
