Mark Makora Mbogo, a Kenyan-American rapper, singer, and songwriter better known as KayCyy, has released a new track named "Breaking Point."
Mbogo was born in Kenya and migrated to Minnesota with his family when he was a child.
KayCyy signed with Alive Productions, a record company formed by music producer Reefa, in 2016, and will leave in 2021.
Patient Enough and Ups & Downs, the rapper's own studio albums, were released in 2020 and 2021, respectively. In 2022, a third album titled Who Is KayCyy? will be published.
Mbogo has collaborated with a number of different musicians, including Lil Wayne on his album Funeral and Kanye West on his track "Wash Us in the Blood."
KayCyy has collaborated with West since 2019. The rappers met through record executive Abou "Bu" Thiam, who ultimately became both West's and KayCyy's manager.
KayCyy is presently signed to Bu's record company BuVision and Columbia Records, and she is recognized as a singer and songwriter on West's ninth studio album Donda, featuring the single "Hurricane," which reached the top of numerous international song charts.
KayCyy was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his work on Kanye West's studio album Donda, and he won a Grammy for adding background vocals to Kanye West's track "Hurricane," which earned a Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
He has released five mixtapes and various songs during his career, with his debut studio album Who Is KayCyy? expected to be released in 2022.
KayCyy has collaborated as a composer and credited vocalist with a number of famous musicians, including Kanye West, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, and Travis Scott.
KayCyy made a significant contribution to the production of West's ninth studio album Donda, composing and recording references for a number of tracks.
