Trevante Rhodes, best known for his roles in Predator and Moonlight, will play Mike in the biographical limited series. In this new trailer for the Hulu original, former boxing champion Mike Tyson's life and times are shown through the eyes of an insider.
"The good and the ugly, and the complexity of both" is how creator and screenwriter Steven Rogers, showrunner Karin Gist, and the creative team behind Hulu's I, Tonya bring Mike's narrative to life in 8 episodes. Laura Harrier, Li Eubanks and Russell Hornsby make up the rest of the cast.
The newly released teaser depicts Mike Tyson's life from his boyhood through his early twenties as a budding boxing legend, beginning with his first fight at the tender age of 16. An honest depiction of a complex guy rather than a love poem to his glories is Trevante Rhodes' Mike Tyson interpretation.
In the trailer, Rhodes can be seen strutting his stuff as "Iron Mike" in nothing but white undies at a press conference, illustrating the boxer's bombastic personality. The Hulu series will also include footage of the boxer hurling a television, sneaking into a cell, and even posing with his famous pet Tiger.
