On at about 06:25:55 AM, FLO Is Apple Music’s Newest ‘Up Next’ Artist was updated.
FLO, a UK R&B girl group, is the latest featured artist on Apple Music's Up Next series, which is "a monthly artist initiative geared towards identifying, showcasing, and elevating rising talent."
The trio, made up of Renée Downer, Jorja Douglas, and Stella Quaresma, released their debut single, "Cardboard Box," earlier this year, and it quickly became a viral sensation, amassing approximately 2 million streams in its first month. Their EP, The Lead, was the biggest R&B debut on Apple Music at the time.
"It's incredibly exciting to be a part of the legacy of Apple Up Next artists," FLO said in a statement. "There have been so many incredible musicians before us. How did we end up in the same sentence as Tems and Victoria Monét?! We can't wait for more people to discover the world of FLO and the significance of girl groups. We are honored to be the first R&B girl group to be a part of the campaign, and we hope to inspire more young women to create music without boundaries. Let's take the initiative!!"
Fans learn about the group's origins, goals, and dream collaborations in their Up Next short film. They've also released their new single, "Not My Job," to coincide with this announcement.
"We're obsessed with 'Not My Job,' and it feels like we say 'it's not my job' to someone every day," the women explained. "Everyone solves problems that other people create, whether in a romantic relationship, family drama, or at work, and sometimes you just have to say, 'It's really not my job.'"
