Don’t Build Your Mansion On A Rented Land
Don’t Build Your Mansion On A Rented Land; I will use social media influencer Tunde Ednut and U.S. President Donald Trump as case studies for this publication. this is really essential... so read to the end carefully.
If you really want to grow and succeed in your business and career, do not place your confidence in social media, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
If you had $100 million in your personal bank account and you wanted to build a house worth $50 million, which of the following would you do:
Look for a landed property to rent, pay the landlord $20 million, and build a gigantic building on it with $30 million?
Or
B: Buy your own land instead and build a gigantic building on it using the $50 million?
I know for different reasons, some of you will choose A. It could be because of the location, the connection, for showing off, for fame etc. But for me, I’d go for B. You know why?
I rather spend the whole $50 million on acquiring my own property instead of paying rent of $20 million to another man’s land.
Yoruba people will always say
“Aja ti yo sonu, koni gbo fere olode”
Meaning, a dog that will get lost will never listen to the hunters’ whistle”.
Many people will wake up one day and see that majority of what they have labored for online is gone just like that.🤦
You are an internet entrepreneur, a Blogger, a social media influencer, etc. I have a few questions for you.
Outside of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc, DO YOU HAVE AN EFFECTIVE WAY OF REACHING OUT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS/CLIENTS? If your account gets banned or suspended right now, what’s your fate? What next with your career and business?
See let me tell you. Personally, I Richard Idasenibo, I don’t like putting much resources and energy into anything I don’t have absolute control over, because anything can happen at any time.
Case Study: Tunde Ednut and president Donald Trump.
Do you know that everything Tunde Ednut ever worked for, all his Million Instagram followers was taken away from him within a twinkle of an eye? His IG account was banned and he lost everything. I mean every damn thing.
Just a few days ago, he came back with a new IG account “King Tunde Ednut”, which got close to a million followers within some hours. But guess what? It has been banned again for the second time! WHY?
How about Donald Trump Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram that were suspended/banned indefinitely? A whole sitting president of the United States of America?…then who are you not get banned at any time.🤦
LISTEN UP! All those thoughts and intellectual properties you are putting up on Facebook, Twitter, IG, etc, the Reactions, Comments, and followers that are mesmerizing you, it can be taken at any moment by the owners of the platforms. And there’s nothing you or anyone can do about it.
Don’t Build your mansion on rented land. Look for a safer place to put up your thoughts and crafts. When I say ‘THOUGHTS’, I’m actually referring to your CONTENT. All social platforms are borrowed and can be withdrawn from you at any time.
SOLUTION:
Get yourself a self-hosted blog on word-press and channel all your thoughts and contents there. That is a platform that you owned and cannot be taken from you.
Or
Have a backup of all your content in your google drive so as to keep it for the future.
I’ve lost so many Facebook accounts. I’ve been restricted for over 10 times just last year. In fact, as I’m writing this, my Facebook account is on 24hr restriction.
Don’t be a scapegoat or that Dog I mention previously. “Aja ti yo sonu, koni gbo fere olode”
A word is enough for the wise. I wish Tunde Ednut could forget about Instagram and build a personal blog for himself and his brand. Because even if he creates another IG account right now, he’s still gonna be BANNED.
I repeat,
Don’t Build Your Mansion On A Rented Land
