Read!: DJ Switch slams Lagos govt over a court order to auction 88 impounded vehicles; The Lagos State Government has called Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly known as DJ Turn, over the order it recently received from a mobile court to sell 88 cars confiscated from traffic criminals in the state.
Note that the Environmental Sanitation and Special Offenses Task Force of the State of Lagos (Enforcement Unit) reported that it had received an order from the Lagos State Mobile Court to sell 88 forfeited cars.
The cars were impounded in various parts of the state for speeding against the traffic.
The owners of the cars were arraigned before the mobile court, which ordered the forfeiture, according to Shola Jejeloye, the agency's chairman.
According to Jejeloye, the public auction is also scheduled to take place in the agency's car park, Alausa, Ikeja, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
Reacting, DJ Switch on Tuesday slammed the state government for taking such an action in a video from her Instagram account when it should have fined the criminals or sent them to prison.
She also accused the state government of Lagos of being robbers, noting that keeping weapons around was what left of them.
DJ Switch has called on her fellow actors not to speak out about the state government's proposal to sell traffic offenders' vehicles.
”I just read on the news that the Lagos State Environmental Unit through their inept and corrupt mobile court gave the order for peoples cars to be auctioned off, to be sold off.
“What happened to fines? Why can’t you fine these people? Give them something to pay or better still a minimum jail term. A weekend in jail or community service.
“All of a sudden you want to sell off the vehicles. You are a thief. Lagos state government is a thief.
“You are short of just carrying guns. It is gun that is remaining for you. You are a thief. ‘
”I am very certain that a lot of these people that their cars are there are crying out but nobody knows them. Where are our celebrities?
“The government didn’t even come up with creative ways to distract us and we are distracted. We have still not seen anyone dragged to jail over Lekki massacre.
“SARS is still running up and down the streets of this country, and nobody is doing anything about it. I can go on with a list of so many things going wrong.”
