Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate and former Lagos State governor, is returning to Nigeria from France.
Tinubu left Nigeria shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on June 27, according to DJ More Music News.
Tunde Rahman, the APC flagbearer's spokesman, said in a statement, "He is off to Paris, France to hold some important meetings." The APC's standard-bearer is expected to return to the country soon."
Tinubu announced his return to Nigeria via his official Twitter account on Friday evening.
The tweet reads, "Heading home," and includes a link to his Instagram page, which shows him inside an airplane.
Tinubu's return to the country comes just hours after Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje claimed that the APC presidential candidate has agreed to choose a Muslim running mate for the 2023 election.
