Billboard Triller Global Charts Topper Announcement
Nigerian Pop stars Skiibii and Davido respectively continue to rule the World Charts Billboard's Top Triller Global chart has Skiibii and Davido's hit "Baddest Boy" at #1.
Triller, the AI-powered open garden technology platform for creators, honors Nigerian artists Skiibii and Davido, whose tune "Baddest Boy" debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Triller Global chart this week and #2 on the Top Triller US chart in just three weeks. The two popular Afrobeat performers have collaborated on a remix of Skiibii's original tune, which was released in November 2021 and was created by rising star beatmaker Runcheck—Top Triller Global.
Nigerian music continues to rule the Top Triller Global and Top Triller US charts this year. CKay's #1 single, 'Love Nwantiti,' premiered in December and was quickly followed by Fiokee's 'Follow You,' which jumped from #10 to #1 in only two weeks, replacing another Nigerian single, 'Peru,' by Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran, and following CKay's #1 single, 'Peru,' by Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran.
The largest songs on Triller are featured on Billboard's U.S. and Global Triller charts, which are based on a system that considers the number of user-generated videos using a song, the amount of views, and the level of engagement other users have with the videos. The rating is based on a weekly tracking system that runs from Friday to Thursday.
Skiibii, whose real name is Abbey Toyyib Elias, is a Nigerian singer, composer, and stage performer who was signed to KCee's Five Star Music in 2014 and released many songs under that label, including "Ah Skiibii." He has subsequently left Five Star Music to start his own record company, More Grace Music, and has had hits with Reekado Banks on 'Sensima,' Teni and Falz on 'Daz How Star Do,' and 'Omaema,' among others. He's up for the Nigerian Teen Choice Award as well as the Top Naija Music Award for Artiste of the Year.
Davido, whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer who is recognized for fusing traditional African themes with mainstream pop music. Since 2013, he has had a string of hits and in 2016, he secured a record deal with Sony's RCA Records. His hit, 'Fall,' became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history when it was released in 2017.
