Ashe, an American singer-songwriter, has released a new single from her upcoming second studio album titled "Love Is Letting Go," which includes actress and filmmaker Diane Keaton.
In total, there are fourteen (14) songs on the album, which was released by Mom + Pop on October 14, 2022. Before the album was officially launched, seven songs were made available.
Ashe released her first studio album, Ashlyn, on May 7, 2021. Critics praised the effort. Ashe explained that her first album was "so off the heels of my divorce and going through all this upheaval and poison."
In contrast, Rae, the singer's second studio album, is "rooted in confidence, sexual freedom, exhilaration, and liberty," in her words.
On March 3, 2022, Rae released their debut song, "Another Man's Jeans." Late Night with Seth Meyers featured Ashe's performance of the song on May 19. Its follow-up song "Hope You're Not Happy" was released to the public on May 6, 2022.
Release details for Rae, set for October 14, 2022, were revealed on June 22, 2022, alongside the release of the album's third single, "Angry Woman.
A performance by Yoko Ono in 1964's Cut Piece served as inspiration for Jason Lester's "Angry Woman" music video. Like in Cut Piece, Ashe's garments are gradually removed off her in this video until the final frame, in which she is revealed to be n-ed.
One of Ashe's most well-known songs is "Moral of the Story," released in 2019. It was produced by Noah Conrad and Finneas O'Connell, and it was included in the Netflix film To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020).
Ashe has toured with Louis the Child, Lauv, and Whethan, and she also co-wrote Demi Lovato's "You Don't Do It for Me Anymore" song from 2017. Her duet with Shaun Frank, "Let You Get Away," went gold and earned her a Juno Award nomination.
Ashe had already amassed over 200 million listens and nine No. 1 tracks on Hype Machine by the time she launched her debut EP, The Rabbit Hole, in June 2018.
Ashe backed Quinn XCII on his From Michigan with Love World Tour and dropped her single "Moral of the Story" at the same time.
Ashe's four-song EP Moral of the Story: Chapter 1 dropped on April 5, 2019; Finneas O'Connell was responsible for all of the production. Three of the EP's four tracks from her follow-up, Moral of the Story: Chapter 2, were produced by O'Connell.
Because of its inclusion in the Netflix adolescent rom-com To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020) in February 2020, the track "Moral of the Story" climbed to the number two spot on the Global and US Spotify Viral 50 charts.
A song called "Moral of the Story" was Ashe's first to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 and her first album, Moral of the Story: Chapter 1, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Ashe and Niall Horan have teamed up for a duet of "Moral of the Story," which was just published.
Over 901,400 videos on the social media site TikTok feature the track as of June 2020. To date (September 2022) her song with Niall Horan has been streamed over 160 million times on Spotify.
Ashe and O'Connell collaborated on a second single, "Till Forever Falls Apart," which was released in March 2021. Her first album, Ashlyn, was released on May 7, 2021. It features the singles "I'm Fine," "When I'm Older," and "Me Without You," all of which were released individually prior to the album's release. According to the Billboard 200 for the week ending May 22, 2021, Ashlyn debuted at position 194.
Ashe has stated that jazz, Diane Keaton, and Carole King have all been significant influences on her work.
For the sake of paying respect to Carole King, Ashe added a "e" to the end of her stage name. Stevie Nicks, Carole King, John Mayer, Justin Vernon, and Bon Iver are some of her favorite musicians.
