Abuja Agog As Peter Umo Eno Picks Governorship Candidate Form
Pastor Umo Eno, the leading Akwa Ibom State governorship aspirant, has purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja, also known as the Wadatta Plaza, in accordance with the 2023 election guidelines released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
A large crowd of Akwa Ibom officials, youths, and women gathered at the PDP National Secretariat to commemorate the historic occasion, singing, drumming, and dancing. The national leadership of the Maintain Peace Movement, MPM, and top PDP leaders were present, as were hundreds of supporters, including Akwa Ibom State National Assembly members, past and present Commissioners, House of Assembly members, chairmen of boards and parastatals, and local government chairmen.
The PDP National Secretary, Mr. Samuel Anyanwu, the National Organizing Secretary, Umar Bature, the Akwa Ibom/Cross River representative in the National Working Committee and National Woman Leader, Prof Stella Effah-Attoe, and the National Treasurer, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed met the team separately upon their arrival.
In solidarity with Pastor Umo Eno, hundreds of Akwa Ibom indigenes in Abuja invaded the party's national office. Following the selection of his form, Pastor Umo Eno acknowledged the strategic significance of the media in his campaign and the need of creating a level playing field, as the party has done. Umo informed the people of Akwa Ibom that a new dawn is on the way to promote the state's peace and infrastructure development.
