It's long past due! This fall, HBO Max will premiere Lizzo's official documentary, which follows the three-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, flautist, and actress who has shifted the pop world in recent years.
The currently untitled documentary, which was announced at the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront on Wednesday (May 18), will not only follow her humble beginnings and rise to stardom but will also highlight the challenges she's faced while balancing her career and personal life.
"Growing up, I never dreamed I'd get to experience all of the things I've accomplished in my life, and I'm just getting started," the "Good As Hell" singer said in a statement. I'm ecstatic to be able to share and relive my journey with HBO Max and my fans. From 'Cuz I Love You' to my dramatic world tour, losing and gaining love, and creating my new album 'Special,' you'll see how much time, patience, blood, sweat, and tears went into this. It takes ten years to become an 'overnight success,' and I hope that by sharing my story, other young creatives will be inspired to keep going."
"To get the chance to work with someone we have admired and adored for so long is a dream come true," Sarah Aubrey, HBO Max's Head of Original Content, added. Lizzo's incredible talent has inspired and entertained millions, and we're thrilled to be a part of her incredible journey."
Lizzo isn't just excited about her yet-to-be-titled documentary these days. Her new album, Special, will be released on July 15, and she will embark on a North American tour in September. Her Yitty athleisure line debuted last month, and her competition series, Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, premiered on Prime Video on March 25.
Not to mention, her new chart-topping single, "About Damn Time," which went viral on TikTok is the latest dance craze, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart — A Lizzo Documentary Headed To HBO Max This Fall
