Both Atlantic Records and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's imprint label, Highbridge the Label, have signed the rapper.
Friends of the rapper gave him the moniker "A Boogie wit da Hoodie" because of how often he wore hoodies, which was a reference to the character "Ace Boogie" from the 2002 film Paid in Full.
